If you’ve never played Myst before, then you need to check it out. It looks better, sounds clearer, and plays smoother. I was already impressed with realMyst released last year, but playing this version in VR is a whole different experience entirely. It's a great thing I haven't played the game for 19 years, so my memory is blank (more or less) and everything is freshītw, nice review using the Rift - rating 90%: Of course this game is worth $30, especially if you like puzzles and are new to Myst. More painted wooden textures - and the polygon level is great
There's nothing like a great floor texture
Wooden textures - not bad - but actually not really Alyx nor Boneworks ultramersion quality either - but you need to see it inside the game Sun, shadows, and lots of 3D grass - looks awesome - but I kinda think PCVR users just got the raw 2D version. Rocks could look like some tessellation was used, but maybe it's just a high poly level. I still think Obduction is performing much better than Myst, and for those of you knowing Obduction you get the idea. Still the game looks and plays great using either res 225% + EPIC + DLSS Quality - or just plain vanilla res 300% + EPIC. Actually didn't try to turn off motion smoothing, maybe that will help? I'll test that later. The game does run fine with no DLSS and EPIC settings using res 300%, but I don't get 90 fps - and motion smoothing is my friend. If I Increase to res 300%, then 90 fps is a no-go with no DLSS, and I need to use DLSS Performance to get anywhere near 90 fps. If I want solid 90 fps using EPIC settings, the game works fine in res 225% with DLSS Quality. Myst still works fine - but I am using a RTX 3090. Actually I think performance in the game is worse the Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot, lol. Well, the dude does not state his performance (fps), but if I want just 90 fps then even res 300% is close to a no-go when using the EPIC in-game setting, DLSS or not. Now it's here, now it's time to settle an old score.Ĭontrols feel natural on the index. I never finished the myst series games because I have been waiting for a VR version of a game like this for over 20 years. The other thing is it's very optimized on EPIC settings for my rtx3090 and SUPPORTS DLSS! which is a BIG WIN!
This game provides the VR legs people ask for with options available at for you to pick at start of the game which is a BIG bonus. Everybody seen me brag about the 300% supersampling I play all my games at but there is no need for that. What I am going to talk about is the performance. "There is no need for me to review this game because everybody knows myst.
